  • A Magical New Zealand Adventure Awaits!

    Step into the world of Middle-Earth . . .

A spectacular mountainous landscape awaits when you embark on a luxury adventure to New Zealand!

Adventure calls. New Zealand is no stranger to magic: from staggering glaciers, rugged coastlines to its familiar spine of mountain ranges, you would think you’ve been transported to J.R.R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth. Wander across the Land of Long White Cloud and discover the magic for yourself on this luxury holiday!

    TRAVERSE

Why travel all the way to the north when you catch a glimpse of the Southern Lights in New Zealand? Watch as one of nature’s magical phenomenons burn to life before your very eyes. Some popular spots are Stewart Island, Lake Terapo, Mount Cook National Park and South Island.

Head into the Waitomo Caves for a sparkly night-time treat. As your boat carefully glides in, ethereal blue lights start to flicker along the walls. It’s as if you’ve entered the stunning planet of Pandora from James Cameron’s Avatar! These “lights” are really glowworms, insect larvae that gleam with bio-luminescence in the dark. The caves consist of two levels: the upper level has delicate cave formations while the lower level is made up of stream passages and the Cathedral, the tallest chamber in the cave.

Abel Tasman National Park may be the smallest national park in New Zealand, but it packs a punch! It’s the perfect place for an adventure. Kayak around the coastline, sail in a catamaran or soar high and above in a helicopter! Stretch out under the warmth of the summer sun at Te Puketea Bay and look out for the native wildlife. Listen out for the melodious cries of tui and bellbirds, spot little blue penguins dive for their dinner and keep a look-out for fur seals lazing around the edge of Tonga Island!

Hop on a wagon and pay a visit to Hobbiton, re-created especially for fans of Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy. The vibrant green pastures of the Shire are a welcome sight for all — regardless if you are a tall elf or a tiny gnome! This is where your New Zealand adventure should begin!

    TACKLE

The adventure capital of New Zealand indeed lives up to its name. Travellers are never disappointed by the range of thrilling activities available in Queenstown. Ascend to the Skyline complex upon Bob’s Peak with the Skyline Gondola and enjoy panoramic views of the Southern Alps and across Lake Wakatipu. For a taste of adventure, you can even choose to luge or paraglide back down to town! Take the plunge at the heart-racing Kawarau Bridge Bungy, the world’s first bungy.

Tap into the thrumming pulse of New Zealand’s art and heritage at Nelson Tasman. Every Saturday morning in Nelson Central, crowds will scramble to the local market, where scores of artisans showcase their finest works. At Jens Hansen, you will find the world’s most famous ring: the One Ring “that rules them all, find them… and in the darkness bind them”. If an all-powerful ring is not what you seek, you can even purchase a custom-engraved Elvish Signet Ring or an Elvish Love Ring Set (for the happy couple!). Head to Bridge Street to explore New Zealand’s best craft beers and wineries, a great addition to any luxury holiday!

The harbour town of Wellington is the cultural capital of the country. Discover New Zealand’s richness at the free-for-all Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa (also known as the Te Papa Museum), where visitors are able to learn more about the Maori and explore its national art collection. You can even admire the colossal squid — the first and only colossal squid displayed in the world — in the museum!

Enjoy amazing panoramic view of the mountains looming over Queenstown, a great addition to an adventurous escapade in New Zealand!

    TASTE

What New Zealand adventure is ever complete without tasting local dishes? New Zealand’s best known delight is the pavlova, a meringue-based dessert topped with whipped cream and fresh fruits. Wellington’s Floriditas in Wellington serves the best in the country.

Maori hangi (roast dinner) consists of fish, meat and root vegetables traditionally cooked in a pit dug in the ground. This imparts the dish with its trademark smoky, earthy fragrance. You can experience the Maori culture while participating in hangi preparation in the thermal regions of Rotorua and Bay of Plenty, where it is cooked in natural thermal steam and water.

Try your hand at picking your own fruits! Lavender Backyard Garden is the only farm where you can pick your own blueberries and lavender. These medium-sized blueberries are only ripe for picking from early December till the end of January.

Pavlova is a delicious fruity dessert, topped with strawberries and kiwi, a gourmet speciality of New Zealand
