Best Time to Go

The most comfortable periods to travel are May to June and September to October, when temperatures are mild and rural roads are easily accessible. These months allow for relaxed walking through rice terraces, artisan districts, and outdoor art sites without seasonal extremes.

Winter (December to February) offers a distinctive snow-country setting and strong onsen appeal, but heavy snowfall may affect transfers and site access.

July and August are lush and vibrant, but warmer temperatures and humidity may limit long periods outdoors.
