Travel from Tokyo to Echigo-Yuzawa by Shinkansen. From here, continue by private transfer into Niigata’s snow country. Check into Matsunoyama Onsen, widely regarded as one of Japan’s great medicinal hot springs. Settle in, soak, and adjust to the slower pace of rural Japan. Evening kaiseki dinner featuring regional ingredients.

Rice Fields & Village Traditions

After lunch, visit Tokamachi City Museum for insight into life in a heavy-snow region. Later, join a hands-on workshop to create a traditional rice-flour doll known as chinkoro.
